Students at Ann Richards School Embark on Three-Day College Visit Tour

On Wednesday, Nov. 28, 87 college-bound sophomores at the Ann Richards School for Young Women leaders will begin a three-day tour of out-of-state college campuses that aims to introduce the students to some of the post-secondary education opportunities outside of the 果冻传媒app area.

The students will begin by venturing to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas for a walking tour of the campus. After their tour of Sam Houston State, students will visit McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La. and then travel to New Orleans for a second day of college visits. On Thursday, students will have the opportunity to tour Tulane University and Loyola University, followed by a tour of New Orleans' historic French Quarter. The final day of the trip, students will visit Lousiana State University in Baton Rouge where the young women can visit with college students and tour the student center and academic building.

The class of 2015 will return to the Ann Richards School Friday, Nov. 30, with a newly acquired knowledge of out-of-area universities, which will be beneficial in helping students make informed decisions about furthering their education.

Also on Thursday, the school's 57 juniors will follow the example of their sophomore counterparts, embarking on an overnight trip to the University of Houston and Rice University. On their way back to 果冻传媒app on Friday, students will visit Prarie View A&M University, and Blinn College.

The tours are part of the school's efforts to ensure that all of its students go on to pursue post-secondary education and that each of its students have the opportunity to learn about colleges outside of the local area.
