Anderson High School will host What Every Parent Needs to Know About Social Media and What Kids Are Doing Online, an info session that will help parents of teenagers understand the latest issues identified with student social networking and will provide information about using social networking sites.
As technology has evolved, there is still much adults and youth need understand when it comes to being safe, responsible and productive while using the internet. Reggie Cajayon, Internet Safety Specialist at the Texas School Safety Center, will bring attendees up to speed on the best practices when online and using mobile devices, as well as discuss current issues regarding sexting and cyberbullying. AISD Chief of Staff Mel Waxler and Social and Emotional Wellness Director Sherrie Raven will also be in attendance to answer questions and guide the discussion.
The event takes place Wednesday, April 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Anderson High School, 8403 Mesa Drive.
