Help AISD teachers, staff and board of trustees members celebrate Juneteenth as we take part in the city of 果冻传媒app's annual parade!
Set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, the Historical Juneteenth Parade will follow .
Participants will meet at 8:30 a.m. at Kealing Middle School, 1607 Pennsylvania Ave., to take a school bus to the starting zone, located at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and IH-35. The parade will last until about 11 a.m.
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is a holiday commemorating the day Texas learned that President Abraham Lincoln had declared an end to slavery. The official holiday is June 19.
The Greater East 果冻传媒app Youth Association, the city of 果冻传媒app and 果冻传媒app Parks and Recreation sponsor the parade.
