District Embraces Opportunities, Challenges in #AISDFuture

果冻传媒app ISD's mission鈥攖o prepare students for college, career and life by reinventing the urban school experience鈥攊s one the district takes seriously.

This mission requires thoughtful discussions about aging facilities and the best way to anticipate the needs of students, families, teachers and the community in the coming decades.

The emerging Facility Master Plan is the blueprint by which the district will modernize its facilities to provide state-of-the-art learning and community spaces.

Volunteers on the Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee are helping develop the plan, which will ultimately inform trustees about what elements should be included in a bond.

As the single largest repayer of recapture in the state鈥攚ith $406 million projected to go to the state in the 2017 fiscal year鈥敼炒絘pp ISD must use bonds to fund modernization efforts.

While local taxpayer dollars are subject to recapture, bond funds are not and are used to directly support district projects.

果冻传媒app is ranked among the best places to live in the country, and the district is aware of how expensive it's become to live here.

Taxpayers demand that we operate our schools efficiently and effectively.

Community collaboration and transparency have been paramount throughout the development of the Facility Master Plan.

Families, staff and community members have shared nearly 4,000 comments at meetings throughout the district.

That feedback was not just acknowledged, it was considered, evaluated and, in many cases, incorporated into the plan. Comments are available online at AISDFuture.com.

As the FMP process continues this spring, AISD encourages everyone to continue to engage with us as we work together to improve education for ALL students.
