For the first time in program history, the McCallum High School bowling team will travel to the state tournament hoping to strike gold.
After winning eight of 10 matches in the regional tournament earlier this month, the Knights will battle bowling's best March 25–26 in Fort Worth.
“I watched a group of young men grow together during this (regional) tournament,” Coach Randy Cannon said in an interview with McCallum's student newspaper, The Shield. “After each match I saw this team get stronger and more determined with every shot.”
Thirty-six teams advance to the state tournament. The top 16 will advance past the opening round of competition.
