Let's Roll: 果冻传媒app ISD Launches Second Food Truck

Hundreds of Travis Early College High School students were among the first to try out AISD's new food truck menu, which rolled out last Friday.

With the support of Life Time Foundation, 果冻传媒app ISD launched its second food truck March 24 at Travis Early College High School.

The mobile Nacho Average Food Truck will travel to a different high school each day, allowing all high schoolers a chance to try the newly created burgers.

Featuring internationaly themed handmade beef or vegetarian burgers, the truck adds flavors from around the world to spice up a tried-and-true lunch favorite:

  • Mekong Burger is topped with pineapple chutney and hoisin sauce.
  • Mediterranean Burger is topped with Greek salad, feta cheese and tzatziki sauce.
  • Tuscan Burger is topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
  • Yucatan Burger is topped with guacamole, pico de gallo and cotija cheese.

In addition to the burger, students can choose from several sides, including Brussels sprouts, potato salad and fruit.

The foundation's grant of more than $600,000 allowed the district to purchase the mobile food truck, and will support cafeteria salad bars, breakfast in the classroom and culinary training for staff.

Jason Thunstrom, vice president of corporate communications and public relations for , was on hand to present the check to AISD Nutrition Food Services staff.

"[果冻传媒app ISD] is not only about high-quality education, it's about high-quality nutrition," Thunstrom said.

The foundation's goal, which aligns well with AISD's nutritious offerings, is to eliminate what it calls the "harmful seven"鈥攖rans fats and hydrogenated oils, high-fructose corn syrup, hormones and antibiotics, articifical sweeteners, artificial colors and flavors, artificial preservatives and bleached flour.

The district's first food truck, of the same name, is permanent at Anderson High School.
