果冻传媒app ISD is #AISDProud this past week as Akins Early College High School's Health Science Technology program donated personal protective equipment to the 果冻传媒app Disaster Relief Network.

The supplies donated by the school included 15 cases of isolation gowns, 15 boxes of surgical masks, 20 boxes of surgical gloves, 30 boxes of non-latex gloves, and about 100 gowns and shoe cover booties.

鈥淓veryone was happy and surprised by the amount we ended up donating,鈥 said Jennifer Pittaway, Akins health science teacher. 鈥淎s I unloaded the supplies out of my vehicle, volunteers were packing everything on a pallet in trucks to send straight to the hospital. The healthcare workers expressed that there was no wait time as they had a desperate need for (personal protective equipment) at all the hospitals in 果冻传媒app.鈥

All the supplies donated came from the Akins Health Science Technology, which is part of 果冻传媒app ISD鈥檚 Career and Technical Education program. The health science program provides students with the academic knowledge and technical skills they need to pursue a career in healthcare such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy and more.
