1 Big Thing: Trustees extend Interim Superintendent Segura鈥檚 term through June 2024 馃攷
馃彨 At a special voting meeting on Thursday, March 30, the 果冻传媒app ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to extend the contract with Interim Superintendent Matias Segura through June 30, 2024, and slow down the 馃攷search for our district鈥檚 next superintendent.
Why it matters: The board鈥檚 decision will ensure consistent leadership for 馃崕 果冻传媒app ISD students, families and staff while the trustees conduct a 馃攷search to identify the next permanent leader for the district. Trustees had been aiming to recruit and name a new superintendent by July 2023.
What they鈥檙e saying: 鈥淲e have committed to an open, 馃摉 transparent search process. Our district, our students and our staff deserve for this process to be methodical, even if it doesn鈥檛 look like what we thought it would when we started three months ago.鈥 鈥 Trustee Noelita Lugo
鈥淲e鈥檙e putting the structure in place [here at 果冻传媒app ISD] so that it can be the core of what we鈥檙e doing 馃搱 no matter who is here in this seat.鈥 鈥 Interim Superintendent Matias Segura
What鈥檚 next: In the coming days, trustees will consult with the 馃攷 search partner, GR Recruiting, to discuss options for continuing the superintendent search process.听

2. Climate survey 馃摑 for families open until April 14
馃摑 果冻传媒app ISD鈥檚 spring climate survey is open until April 14 to gather feedback from students, families and on-campus staff.
Why it鈥檚 important: The surveys let the district hear 馃憘 how respondents view the district鈥檚 educational 馃彨 climate, culture and engagement. The surveys help 果冻传媒app ISD continue to improve. 锟斤拷
Strictly confidential: 馃攺 The district does not have access to individual responses or any personal data that could be used to identify a respondent. All respondent data is de-identified for complete confidentiality.
Have your say: Our goal 馃弲 is for all campuses to reach an 80% completion rate for this spring鈥檚 survey.
-
Please access our family survey by navigating to and selecting your student's school from the dropdown list.
-
The survey takes about 10 minutes and can be completed on any screen reading device (phone, laptop, tablet) connected to wifi.
Deadline: Responses are 馃棑锔 due no later than April 14.
