The Office of Planning and Community Relations launched Phase One of a new AISD Website on Monday, March 21. We experienced several technical challenges during the launch, and are continuing to work to correct these.
Our goal is to make the AISD Website an easy-to-use and effective source of information for all of our visitors. This exciting new site features a redesigned front page, a more modern core design, and will allow quicker access to the critical information most important to parents, students, staff, and community. The new site will also feature portals that showcase photos, videos, news, awards and achievements. The website redesign was completed entirely by staff at no additional cost to the District. In addition, the feedback we received from staff and the community during our website preview, has helped inform the final design.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new site and explore some of the new key features. Please note: work to update interior pages of the redesigned website will continue for several more months.
We ask that you be patient during this important transition and be aware of the following:
- While we complete the upgrade process there will be many links that are connected to the previous version of the AISD website. This is by design and ensures your access to important information as we make ongoing changes to the site.
- AISD’s website is extremely large and currently has over 10,000 pages. While we will work to ensure that every link and page are correct, you may find a link or page that is broken. If you come across a missing or broken link, please contact the AISD Webmaster at webmaster@austinisd.org
- As we transition to a new content management system, we will use Google Translate to ensure that content is accessible in multiple languages. This is a temporary solution. AISD District Translators will be translating the Website’s new content into Spanish as we complete the redesign process.
We hope you enjoy the new site, and thank you in advance for your patience while we continue to make significant website enhancements. If you have any questions about the AISD website redesign, please contact Jalima (Holly) Subervi at jsubervi@austinisd.org or Camille Lochet at webmaster@austinisd.org in the AISD Office of Planning and Community Relations.
