The LBJ High School student newspaper, The Liberator, has won a High School Newspaper Gold Crown award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association during the recent 87th annual Scholastic Convention. The advisor for the publication is journalism teacher Janet Elbom.
Student publications were judged on writing/editing, design, content, photography, art and graphics.
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, affiliated with Columbia University, is an international student press association that unites student journalists and faculty advisers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges and awards programs.
