Two 果冻传媒app Schools Earn 'Fit Campus' Awards

Two 果冻传媒app middle schools have been chosen as winners of the H-E-B Fit Campus Award with a cash prize of $10,000 each.

The winning campuses were chosen for demonstrating a strong commitment toward educating their students, parents and staff on the importance of health and wellness, and implementing programs and activities that would help them to meet healthy goals.

Statewide, 10 schools earned the H-E-B Fit Campus recognition. 果冻传媒app's Fit Campus winners are:

Fulmore Middle School, Principal - Lisa Bush

Among the numerous health and wellness activities that Fulmore has begun, two of its more successful programs are Falcons on the Move, in which parents and students learn how to exercise together; and Food & Fitness Matter, where parents, students and staff learn about meal preparation, nutrition and making healthy choices.

Webb Middle School, Principal - Rey Garcia

Webb has partnered with the Sustainable Food Center to participate in its Sprouting Healthy Kids farm-to-school and food-systems education project. The project teaches about healthy and local food through after-school gardening and healthy cooking programs. The school also hosts the Webb Health Night where students, parents, and community volunteers come together to plan, prepare, and enjoy preparations of favorite healthy foods.

The H-E-B Fit Campus Award was created in 2011 to mark the 10th anniversary of the H-E-B Excellence in Education (EIE) Awards that recognize outstanding achievements of public school teachers, principals, and school districts. It is the largest monetary rewards program for educators in Texas, and one of the largest in the nation.
