Title I private school students and public school students in grades 3-12 will participate in the Dimension U Math Tournament from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. The math video game tournament will be held at the Delco Center, located at 4601 Pecan Brook Drive.
The tournament will feature students actively engaged in competing against one another in answering math facts. Team and Individual competitions will be held. Dimension U multiplayer video games are designed to teach and reinforce key math concepts from grades 3-12. The games incorporate a series of first-person action adventure missions that feature graphics, sound and animation similar to those in popular video games. By successfully navigating a myriad of embedded lessons, students quickly master the math concepts previously discussed in class. This helps to simplify the complexities of math by presenting them in a format – video games -- that today's students understand.
