In Celebration of Earth Day, Participating AISD Schools will Host Drop-off Stations for Unwanted Computers, Cell Phones and Other Electronics
The 果冻传媒app Independent School District will help community members dispose of used computers, printers and electronics in an environmentally friendly way, while helping to put money into its public schools.
In honor of Earth Day, 果冻传媒app ISD is teaming up with ARC and Electronic Recycling and Trading to collect, dispose of and recycle unwanted computers, laptops, monitors, cell phones and fax machines. Participating AISD schools will offer outdoor drop-off stations Saturday, April 20. ERT will also host a drop-off station in North 果冻传媒app.
鈥淭his program will not only help our community by reducing the amount of waste that goes into landfills, it will serve as an educational opportunity for our parent and student volunteers on the importance of being good stewards of the environment,鈥 Anita Anderson, procurement specialist for the district who is helping to organize the event, said.
ERT certifies that 100 percent of all materials collected will be recycled鈥攏ot end up in a landfill. Because all electronics will be recycled, proceeds from the recycling drive will benefit AISD schools.
"ARC is excited to partner with ERT and AISD on this event. As a provider of technology solutions and services for close to 30 years, we understand the importance of proper recycling of all electronic equipment,鈥 Ryan Grant, president of ARC, said. 鈥淩ecycling and serving the community are at the core of our company, so we're delighted to work with AISD on this effort.鈥
