LASA Student One of 91 in World to Earn Perfect Score on AP Test

Earns every point possible on 2014 AP Spanish Language and Culture exam

果冻传媒app ISD congratulates Liberal Arts and Science Academy senior Sesha McMinn for earning a perfect score on her AP Spanish Language and Culture exam.

When the College Board released details of the 2014 tests recently, LASA officials learned that McMinn was one of only 91 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Spanish Language and Culture exam.

鈥淚鈥檓 extremely proud of Sesha and LASA for their accomplishments. This is yet another showing of our exceptional students and the great work they do every day,鈥 said AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz.

Of the 1.5 million public high school students who took AP exams in 2014, only 285 鈥 0.019 percent 鈥 earned every possible point on any AP exam. To earn a perfect score, the students answered every multiple-choice question correctly and earned full points on the free-response section of the exam.

鈥淲e are extremely proud of Sesha for her hard work and accomplishment. This shines a much deserved light on LASA鈥檚 world language department and on our Spanish program, in particular,鈥 said LASA Principal Stacia Crescenzi.

鈥淚 want to specifically thank my Spanish teacher, Se帽ora Angie Browne, for all of her extra help preparing for the exam,鈥 McMinn said.

AP exams are based and reported on a five-point scale, where a 5 is equivalent to an A in the corresponding college course. McMinn received the top score of 5.

鈥淎P courses and exams are college-level and require hard work and focus on the part of students and their teachers,鈥 said College Board Senior Vice President Trevor Packer. 鈥淥n behalf of the College Board, we congratulate the students and community members who make challenging coursework and focused practice a priority, and who motivate and encourage all students to capture their academic potential.鈥

In 2014, more than 3,900 colleges and universities around the world received AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, and/or consideration in the admission process, with many colleges and universities offering credit in one or more subjects for qualifying AP scores.
