AISD Board of Trustees Approves New Principal Appointments

Akins, Paredes, Jordan and Mills get new leaders

On Monday, 果冻传媒app ISD's Board of Trustees approved new principal appointments for Jordan and Mills elementary schools, Paredes Middle School and Akins High School.
 
Akins High School
 
Brandi Hosack was appointed to lead Akins High School. 
 
Hosack most recently served as the school's interim principal. 
 
In this role, she expanded the parent and community relations program and worked with staff to prioritize goals for instructional programs and extracurricular activities. 
 
She previously served as assistant principal, science teacher and department chairwoman at Akins, and taught biology at Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD. 
 
Hosack has a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Texas at 果冻传媒app and a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology/biology from Texas A&M University. 
 
She is a member of the American Association of School Administrators and Texas Association of School Administrators. 
 
Paredes Middle School 
 
Valerie Torres-Solis was appointed to lead Paredes Middle School. 
 
Torres-Solis most recently served as an assistant principal at Gus Garcia Young Men's Leadership Academy. 
 
In this role, she fostered a positive climate and culture among faculty, staff, parents, community members and students to maximize student success. 
 
She implemented weekly house meetings that focused on growing a community that builds self-esteem through leadership opportunities. 
 
She previously served as an assistant principal and a sixth-grade math teacher at Webb Middle School, and as a math resource teacher at Park Crest Middle School in Pflugerville ISD. 
 
Torres-Solis has a master's degree in educational administration from Lamar University and a bachelor of arts degree in theater from Texas State University. 
 
Jordan Elementary School 
 
Adrienne Williams was appointed to lead Jordan Elementary School. 
 
Williams most recently served as assistant principal at Eastside Memorial High School. 
 
In this role, she developed the ninth-grade academy and supervised the science and social studies departments. 
 
She also developed and implemented campus-wide professional learning communities and provided instructional coaching to teachers. 
 
She previously served as the administrative supervisor for Area 2 elementary schools in AISD, as assistant principal at Lanier High School and as a teacher at Pecan Springs Elementary. 
 
Williams has a master's degree in education leadership from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Arts in sports medicine from Texas A&M University. 
 
Mills Elementary School 
 
Lalla Beachum was appointed to lead Mills Elementary School. 
 
Beachum most recently served as assistant principal at Clayton Elementary School. 
 
In this role, she oversaw teachers in instruction and classroom management and facilitated staff development in balanced literacy, guided reading and integrating technology in the classroom. 
 
She also coordinated campus testing processes and worked collaboratively with the PTA in planning fundraising events and the allocation of funds. 
 
She previously served as a teacher at Forest Trail Elementary in Eanes ISD, a teacher at Bastian Elementary in Houston ISD and an accountant at Texas Commerce Bank in Houston. 
 
Beachum has a master's degree in education administration and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Texas at 果冻传媒app.
 
Beachum also became a certified public accountant through coursework done at the University of Houston.
