Nine former AISD students were awarded the 2015 Neal Kocurek Scholarship from the St. David鈥檚 Foundation. The student鈥檚 receive $7,500 a semester, up to a total of $60,000, to go toward their undergraduate, graduate and doctorate studies.
The following selected recipients are:
Anderson High School
- Mara Minford will be majoring in biology at The University of Texas at Dallas.
- Long Pham will be majoring in nursing at The University of Texas at 果冻传媒app.
- Caroline Young is the winner of the Alfred A. King Chairman鈥檚 Award and will be majoring in biomedical engineering from The University of Texas at 果冻传媒app.
果冻传媒app High School
- Alejandro Lizarraga will be majoring in nursing at Texas State University.
- Edith Gonzalez Rodriguez will be majoring in nursing at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Lainer High School
- Kimberly Corona will be majoring in biochemistry at The University of Texas at 果冻传媒app.
- Myat May is the winner of the Alfred A. King Chairman鈥檚 Award and will be is majoring in biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
- Sania Razzak will be majoring in biology at The University of Texas at 果冻传媒app.
- Abigail Torres will be majoring in biochemistry at The University of Texas at 果冻传媒app.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students had to be a graduating senior from Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis or Williamson counties and seeking a healthcare degree at an accredited Texas college or university.
