When Spotify says, “Music for everyone,” it’s especially true at Kealing Middle School. The school was gifted a recording studio built from materials that came from Spotify House, a live music venue built annually at SXSW.
Spotify, DPR Construction, MINDPOP, Rebuilding Together ýapp and Acoustic Spaces partnered together during Spring Break to build three mixing and mastering recording studios.
Several schools were in the running for the Spotify recording studio. Three schools were visited as finalist sites before narrowing the list to Kealing Middle School.
Now the students are ready to showcase the studio and talents with a grand opening concert and mixing demonstration.
Who: Remarks from Superintendent Paul Cruz, Mayor Steve Adler, Kealing Principal Kenisha Coburn, music production teacher Aragorn Eissler, Spotify Director of Social Impact Kerry Steib, MINDPOP Executive Director Brent Hasty
