In 2010鈥2011, AISD prekindergarten enrollment was 5,614, an increase by 3% from the 2009鈥2010 year. The cost per student for pre鈥怟 was approximately $3,234 for the 2010鈥2011 year, a $94 perstudent decrease from 2009鈥2010.

Most teachers attending the August 2011 new teacher training responded positively to survey questions about their district and campus orientation activities. Teachers also suggested topics for future training sessions.

Thirty-four teacher trainers provided guidance to newly hired AISD teachers in August 2011. When surveyed, most trainers responded that the information and support they received were of high quality and that they felt prepared.
English Language Learners Summary Report 2010-2011
Twenty-nine percent of 2010-2011 AISD students were English language learners (ELLs). The majority of ELLs (62%) made progress in English proficiency and they showed overall improvement in most TAKS content areas for most grades.

Positive Behavior Support Fall 2010 Implementation Research Brief
Positive Behavior Support (PBS), first piloted in 果冻传媒app Independent School District (AISD) in 2003鈥2004, is a systems approach to the prevention of problem behavior and the improvement of students鈥 academic performance. In Fall 2010, the district PBS program was implemented at 81AISD campuses, and staff at one additional campus were preparing for implementation. Working with AISD PBS specialists, campus staff used data to problem solve and monitor strategies for change. Strategies ranged from universal interventions, implemented across all students, staff, and settings, to intensive鈥
